Citrus bioflavonoids are a class of flavonoids that include rutin, hesperidin, quercetin, eriodictyl and citron, and are essential for the absorption of vitamin C.
As well as boosting vitamin C's efficacy, they strengthen fragile capillaries, reduce cholesterol, improve blood circulation and act as antioxidants. They can be used to help rid of and treat heavy metal toxicity, acute internal haemorrhoids, treating varicose veins, venous stasis, subconjunctival and retinal haemorrhage, lymphedema following breast cancer surgery, and gingival bleeding. They can also be helpful against liver toxicity.
